Od štrngania klúčov na námestiach po celom Slovensku ubehlo už 24 rokov. Pamätáte si na tie tváre Gála a Budaja z dobových záberov plné nadšenia a idealizmu? Zostalo z toho opojného pocitu slobody vôbec niečo? Prvé čo priniesla nežná revolúcia bola neuveriteľne zlodejská privatizácia štátneho majetku a potom temné obdobie mečiarizmu. Odvtedy sa už vystriedalo XY vlád a vtedajší sen o západnej demokracií a blahobyte sa už dávno rozplynul.

24 years have passed since the beginning of Velvet revolution. Do you still remember the idealistic faces of forefathers of this historical event? I wonder if there´s anything left of the feeling of freedom, which could be smelled in the air in those times (Of course I was too young to experience it, it´s just an observation based on books, documentaries and talks). The first thing brought by the revolution was a very suspicious privatization of state´s property and bleak times of authoritarian political ruling party. Since then, many parties have ruled over our country and the dream of prosperous western democracy has dissolved.

since the socialism fell.
New regime blessed the highest class,
while the poorest people live in hell.
Unemployment, poverty, people with no place to hide.
Old ideals turned to dust, faith in prosperity died.

Ubehlo viac ako dvadsať rokov
od pádu socializmu.
Nový režim požehnal bohatým,
zatiaľ čo chudobní prežívajú zo dňa na deň.
Nezamestnanosť, bieda a ľudia bez prístrešia.
Staré ideály zapadli prachom, viera v prosperitu umrela.
V tento bordel naozaj verili?
Za tento bordel bojovali?
V zamatovej revolúcii.
